Filmmaker

Michel is an award winning filmmaker who has been making feature length documentaries for more than 30 years. His films include  Space Coast [1980], Silver Valley [1984], Jupiter's Wife [1994], W.I.S.O.R. [2000], Methadonia [2005], I'm Dangerous with Love [2009], and An Autobiography of Michelle Maren [2015]. In addition to making his own films, he has also worked as a producer on many films, among them Edet Belzberg’s Academy Award-nominated Children Underground.

 

Jupiter’s Wife won Best Feature Documentary at the Vancouver and the Santa Barbara Film Festivals, a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival as well as an Emmy. His films have been screened at Sundance, The New York Film Festival, Rotterdam, Berlin and many more. His work has also aired on many networks including PBS, HBO, the Sundance Channel, ARTE and NHK in Japan.

 

Michel Negroponte has also taught in the graduate and undergraduate film programs at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Temple University, the School of Visual Arts, and the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Guy Maddin is a Canadian screenwriter, director, author, and producer. And installation artist. He hails from Winnipeg. Maddin has directed over a dozen feature films and many short films.

His films include My Winnipeg [2007], The Saddest Music in the World [2003] and the ballet film Dracula — Pages From A Virgin’s Diary [2002] – All of which were awarded Emmys.

 

His films Archangel [1990] and The Heart of the World [2000] both won the US National Society of Film Critics Best Experimental Film Award.

 

Maddin is a member of The Order of Canada & The Order of Manitoba. He has also served as Visiting Lecturer at Harvard University.

Design

Craig is a designer as well as a film and theater director.  He has designed opening titles and animations for dozens of independent films as well as TV shows appearing on The Sundance Channel, The History Channel, and PBS.  In addition, Craig has designed projections for Broadway musicals and Off Off Broadway plays. And was apprenticed to a shadow puppet master in Bali. Craig has also taught graphic design and animation at Mercy College and DCTV in New York City.

 

His feature length documentary OXD \ One Extraordinary Day [2015] was named Doc of the Week on WNYC when it premiered at DOC NYC.
